This is the best place to stay with your family. I stayed over there in the month of March, we have four kids with us. The balcony in second floor is just amazing with spectacular views. Food is very good. According to our family,Pakhrin is the best homestay...

Good Hospitality, excellent food, nice location as Kanchenjunga view point is within 50 metres. Kanchenjunga is visible clearly and appears much closer and big as compared to Mall Road of Darjeeling. Facilities like Room heater, barbecue and bonfire are available and served at its best.

At Pakhrin Homestay, we have 13 rooms with attached western bathrooms, electricity, geyser, nicely done comfy beds and some great views of the surrounding forests and Mt. Kanchenjungha from our home stay. If you want, we can arrange for a campfire, roast some chicken and ask our friends to sing some local songs for you in the evenings. My Dad can take you for a long walk through the forests in the mornings to Ghoom Rock from where you can rest your eyes as far as Nepal, Balasun River valley and plains of Bengal. We can share with you the stories of our ancestors and the Gora Sahibs, the monks and the ghosts and the people and their lives, we can also take you on short treks through the forest and we have a car, which can help you with local sightseeing.

When it snows in Lepchajagat, you can tuck yourself within the countless layers of blankets and quilts and we would bring you the hot water bags and smoking pakoras.

Surely! We lack the glitz of the resorts and star rated hotels but our forest, mountains, the chirping of birds, the starry nights and the changing colours of Mt. Kanchenjungha from red to golden and finally to the glaring white during sunrise will make up for it.

As a bonus, my Mom can teach you the exact folds of making a Momo and give you some lost recipes for you to take back, so that you can steam some great Momos for your friends back home.
